U4GM GTA 5 Why Tactical Belt Merges Work Online
If you've spent any time in GTA Online's outfit menu, you'll know the belt problem is annoying. Rockstar gives the cool gear to set outfits, then blocks half the good combinations. Players who want a cleaner tactical look, or who are browsing GTA 5 Modded Accounts for styled characters, usually end up chasing the same thing: a belt that sits properly on a custom outfit without wrecking the rest of the clothes.
Pick a belt outfit first
Start with an outfit that already carries the belt you want. The Prison Guard outfit is the easy pick, since it's available through normal clothing options and comes with a decent key belt. Gruppe Sechs gear is another favourite, mostly because the belt has that security look with the radio attached. You'll need the Casino Heist route for that one. Maintenance outfits are worth checking too, as their belt has keys and a yellow cloth hanging from it. The paramedic belt and gun belt exist as well, though they're more awkward. I'd avoid the cop belt, since the game tends to blacklist it and you'll waste time trying to save something that won't stick.
Build the outfit you actually want
Now make the outfit you plan to wear. Don't just throw on random tops, because the merge depends on compatibility. Use either the Peach Plate Carrier from Utility Vests or the Sand T-Shirt from Gunrunning T-Shirts. The Sand T-Shirt is better if you're going for jackets, since jackets often clash with utility vests. Once your clothes, shoes, gloves, and accessories are set, save the outfit in slot 1 or slot 20. Those edge slots matter later, so don't ignore that part. After that, buy one of the final four Heist Coveralls with the gas mask, such as The Hazard.
Set up the mask and mission save
Go to the mask shop near Vespucci Beach and put on a Black Bulletproof Helmet, then add a Chemical Mask from the Gas Masks section. Sometimes GTA Online acts stubborn and won't combine them neatly, so use the usual mask-and-helmet trick if needed. Save that combo over your custom outfit in slot 1 or slot 20. Next, launch A Titan of a Job from Rockstar Created Missions. When you load in, the plate carrier or Sand T-Shirt should disappear. If it doesn't, restart and try again. Head to Ammu-Nation during the mission, save the outfit as it appears, then quit through your phone.
Merge the belt in the Lamar job
Back in freemode, go to Ammu-Nation and equip the outfit that has the belt you want to move. Then start the Lamar mission It's a G Thing. In the lobby, change Clothing to Player Saved Outfits. You'll need another player to launch it, so have a friend ready. On the outfit selection screen, move one slot to the right if your custom outfit was saved in slot 1. If it was in slot 20, move one slot to the left. Ready up, load into the job, and quit as soon as your character spawns. Don't hang around, as timing can matter.
Save the finished look
Once you're back in freemode, grab any normal street car and sit inside. Register as a CEO, VIP, or Motorcycle Club President. Open the Interaction Menu, go to Management, then Style. Tap right once to change the style, then tap left to return it to None. Step out of the car, and the belt should appear on your custom outfit. If it worked, save it right away at a clothing store or Ammu-Nation. Players comparing styled outfits or looking at GTA 5 Accounts for sale options often notice these small details first, because a good belt setup makes the whole character look more complete.
