Lumen Technologies Appoints New Chief Legal Officer Amid Leadership Transition
Lumen Technologies has announced a significant leadership change with the appointment of Jennifer Hodges as its new Chief Legal Officer, marking an important step in the company’s ongoing organizational transformation. This move follows the retirement of outgoing legal chief Mark Hacker, who is stepping down after leading the company’s legal and public sector operations. Lumen Technologies continues to strengthen its executive team as it focuses on enterprise growth and AI-driven digital infrastructure.
Hodges currently serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Governance, Securities, Transactions, and Litigation, and will officially assume the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer effective April 20, 2026. She brings deep experience in legal strategy, compliance, and corporate governance, positioning her to guide Lumen through its next phase of transformation.
Outgoing Chief Legal Officer Mark Hacker will remain with the company through mid-May to ensure a smooth leadership transition. During his tenure, he played a key role in shaping Lumen’s legal framework and supporting its shift toward becoming a modern digital networking and infrastructure provider. His departure comes as part of a planned retirement to pursue personal and vocational goals.
In addition to the legal leadership change, Lumen also announced a broader restructuring of executive responsibilities. Chief Revenue Officer Jeff Sharritts will take on expanded oversight of the company’s public sector business, reinforcing Lumen’s strategy to align leadership with key growth areas.
The leadership updates reflect Lumen Technologies’ continued focus on strengthening governance, improving operational alignment, and supporting its transformation into a next-generation digital infrastructure provider.
