WATCH Penguins G Jeff Zatkoff took the Stanley Cup down a water slid

Win the Stanley Cup and you can do (almost) anything you want with it. In the years since players have been able to take the trophy home for a day, there have been many unique circumstances the Cup has been put in. Whether it's a snack or beverage served out of it, taking it to various landmarks or pa sing it around a crowd, Lord Stanley has been through a lot. So the Keeper of Seth Romero Jersey the Cup probably didn't flinch when Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Jeff Zatkoff asked if he could take it down a water slide into a public pool in Cary, N.C., on Wednesday. Not flinching and having reservations are different things, of course. Zatkoff's request was granted, but instead of sliding wildly down a slide into the pool, Pittsburgh's third-stringer got a little help from about five friends all stationed at various points of the slide, for what can only be described as the slowest, most delicate slide any water slide had ever seen before. JENNqvist (@PensHockeyQueen) They all stacked up on each other to ensure that the last person with the Cup did not go under the water and take the trophy with him. That may take some of the fun out of it, but you have to appreciate the team work and the reverence for hockey's top prize. You also have to wonder just how long Zatkoff has been thinking, "If I ever win the Stanley Cup, we're going down a water slide together." Zatkoff, who was affectionately dubbed "Mr. Game 1" by his teammates for being the starter in their first game of the playoffs against the New York Rangers, just gave a lot of kids a new Cup day fantasy. Now the veteran goaltender will have to hope to make some new memories with a new team. He was one of the few Penguins to go elsewhere this offseason. Zatkoff signed with the Los Angeles Kings, the team that originally drafted him into the NHL, as an unrestricted free agent. Among his Cup day guests, and I believe one of the individuals on the water slide, was former Miami teammate and Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup hero Alec Martinez.
