Barbarian continues to look incredibly strong heading into Season 14. The highest PTR Tower clear currently sits at Tier 137, achieved by the popular Call of the Ancients Summoner Barbarian build.

Many of the same mechanics that dominated Season 13 remain effective, including damage scaling strategies built around freezing enemies and maximizing damage during extended fights. New Mythic Unique upgrades have added extra power, but they haven't dramatically altered the overall Barbarian hierarchy.

Whirlwind builds also remain highly competitive, appearing frequently among the top leaderboard positions. While Summoner Barbarian appears to be the strongest option for Diablo 4 Gold pushing the highest content, Whirlwind remains a reliable and powerful alternative. Other builds, including Flame Charge variants, also continue to perform well, giving Barbarian players plenty of viable choices.

Necromancer's Minion Army Is Back

One of the most encouraging developments on the PTR is the resurgence of minion-focused Necromancer builds.

The class currently holds a top Tower clear of 120, with multiple leaderboard leaders running full Summoner setups centered around Golems and Army of the Dead. After Blood Wave dominated much of Season 13, many players were hoping for a fresh playstyle to emerge, and the PTR suggests that Blizzard may have succeeded.

Several top-performing builds are making extensive use of minion synergies, upgraded Unique items, and Army of the Dead enhancements. If these results hold through launch, Necromancer players could finally see true minion-focused gameplay return to the top of the meta.

Sorcerer Shows Signs of Greater Variety

Sorcerer was largely defined by Unstable Currents during Season 13, with many top builds simply choosing different lightning skills while relying on the same core mechanic.

Season 14 may finally change that.

The current top Sorcerer clear sits at Tier 116, and notably, the leading build uses Hydra rather than Unstable Currents. This marks one of the first times in months that a completely different archetype has challenged for the top position.

That said, Unstable Currents has not disappeared entirely. It still occupies several high-ranking spots on cheap Diablo IV gold the leaderboard and remains a strong contender. The encouraging takeaway is that Sorcerers now appear to have multiple competitive options instead of being locked into a single dominant strategy.
