FedEx Joins Hedera Council to Advance Digital Supply Chain Technology
FedEx has officially joined the Hedera Council for supply chain technology, signalling its intent to help shape the future of digital global supply chains by contributing to the governance of the Hedera distributed ledger network. This move aligns with FedEx’s strategy to modernise logistics, improve data transparency and collaborate with other global firms on trusted digital infrastructure.
As a member of the Hedera Council, FedEx will operate a network node and hold equal voting rights alongside other leading organisations, including Google, IBM and Dell. By actively participating in Hedera’s governance, FedEx aims to support interoperable, enterprise-grade distributed ledger technology (DLT) that can enhance visibility, automation and secure data verification across complex, cross-border supply chains.
FedEx’s decision reflects its broader digital transformation goals. The company emphasises that supply chains must evolve from traditional paper-based systems to digital ecosystems where trusted data is shared and verified among multiple parties without increasing risk or centralising control. Hedera’s public, enterprise-grade DLT provides a neutral trust layer that supports scalable and secure verification while allowing companies to build differentiated solutions on top of the network.
Participation in the Hedera Council positions FedEx to influence the development of industry standards for distributed infrastructure in supply chain operations.
