High-Flow Intake Elbow for Ram 6.7 Cummins

A high-flow intake elbow for Ram 6.7 Cummins is an aftermarket replacement for the factory intake elbow, also called an intake horn or manifold elbow. It is designed with a larger and smoother airflow path to reduce restriction before air enters the intake manifold. This type of upgrade is popular on Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins diesel engine.

Improve Airflow and Throttle Response

The factory intake elbow can restrict airflow because of its shape and relatively small passages. A larger high-flow intake elbow for Ram 6.7 Cummins can provide a smoother transition and more airflow into the engine.

For example, S&B's intake elbow is substantially larger than the factory elbow. The company reports a 59.7% airflow improvement in its published testing for the 2019-2024 application.

Banks Power has also tested different 6.7L Cummins intake elbows using flow-bench testing and highlights improved airflow as an important factor when selecting an intake design.

Depending on the complete engine setup, improved intake flow can support quicker turbo response, reduced restriction, and better overall airflow. Actual performance results will vary with the turbocharger, tuning, exhaust, and other supporting components.

High-Flow Intake Horn Options

Many aftermarket intake elbows are manufactured from aluminum or stainless steel. Some designs include additional ports for sensors or boost-related accessories.

EGR Performance offers a 3.5-inch stainless-steel high-flow intake manifold elbow for 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 6.7L Cummins trucks
